CAGD 373 - Destiny 2 Tower

CAGD 373 - Destiny 2 Tower

My name is Kyle Ramser, and I am currently attending Chico State for Computer Animation and Game Development. I am working in the group Ghost, and our goal is to recreate the Tower area from Destiny 2 for our final project in Game Asset Development. Currently, I am our team’s only main modeller, so I have been working on essentially nothing but models and blockouts, and so far I think it has been going fairly well.

As for what I have done in our first sprint so far, I was able to finish a lot of the main models that are required for our player controller to experience the level. This includes things like the main ground area that covers the full tower, a modular metal ground that can be plugged into the blockouts, a ramp to get from one level to another, and a set of stairs to get down to some of the vendors on the side of the tower. On top of modeling and UVing some of these, I did the blockout for the scene and props so that the rest of my team knows the size comparison for every prop that we have, as well as where they all go.

I think that all of these things made a strong start to our process, and now that everything is set up, my team and I will have a much easier time laying out the scene and creating the props. Setting up the blockout was a very important step for all of us to be able to work in tandem and know exactly what each prop should look like and its size. I think this was a strong start, and I am looking to carry this momentum into later sprints.

This can be easily used to influence choices from our group, as we can see what forms of media are working, as well as what forms are not working anymore. An immediate example from this article is the fall off of Twitter, now known as X, which is only receiving 21 percent of people who say they use it. KickBack - Sprint Review 1

KickBack - Sprint Review 1 My name is Kyle Ramser, and I am currently working as a 3D artist on the game KickBack. We just finished up our first sprint, which means I was able to finish some of the early models to be implemented into the game. So far, this production has been one of the most interesting for me personally, and the team I am working with is a bit larger than I am used to. The art style for this game is low-poly models with a very simplistic texture style, reminiscent of something like Risk of Rain 2 or Solar Ash. I have never worked on a project with this type of style before, so it has been a learning curve for me, and I am still trying to find helpful information for texturing in these kinds of games. So far, I think the models have turned out quite well, and I am definitely getting the hang of the art style as it has become more natural for me to create these lower-poly models. As for the work I have completed this sprint, like I said before, I completed several model...

The Future of the Music Industry

The Music Industry - The Future of Listening I truly believe that the entirety of music will be switching to streaming. With how quickly streaming has advanced, and how much music is now streamed compared to other sources, I believe that eventually everyone will be transferring to streaming for its ease of access and its improving audio quality. Even now, according to the IFPI Global Music Report, 69 percent of music listeners are using streaming services, which I think will only grow with time. Additionally, I believe that it is possible that at some point in the somewhat near future, cars will remove both AM and FM radio, and will adopt an Apple play style smart screen for all streaming. This is obviously not a guarantee as people have been upset at the removal of AM radio in cars, but with how popular and used music streaming has been, I feel as though Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming software will be built into cars. With how easy to use Apple and Android Car Play are, I f...
