I am personally fascinated by artificial intelligence purely because of the speed at which it has been progressing in recent years. It has such a wide array of uses, and is getting so much better at what it does so unbelievably rapidly. This does not by any means mean that I like AI and think it is a great thing; in fact, I think it is out of control at the moment and is already causing and will continue to cause huge issues. Being someone who works in technology, though, it is impossible for me to look away from, and I find myself reading articles and staying up to date on a lot of the advancements of AI, and weighing out the positives and negatives of each breakthrough.


I will say that I believe there are good uses for AI as long as it is supported by other sources, such as information gathering with information supported by other articles or websites, basic health diagnosis that can give doctors a basic idea of where to start on an issue, or even recommended feeds for streaming services or youtube that build off of your previous interests. So I do believe that AI can be a very useful tool, but at this point in time, generative AI is becoming out of control and is being used without restriction. This ramping technology is exactly why I find the topic of AI so interesting, because with how quickly it evolves and how little it is restricted, I have seen it being added to essentially anything and everything, even as far as a fully AI social media platform that users can’t interact with, and are only meant to observe. 


The extent of the influence that AI is having over nearly every corner of the internet is so vast that I find myself exploring each one through videos or personal use to decide whether I think it is a decent use of AI, or if it is simply using AI to say that it includes it. It has gotten to the point now that websites or services will add AI assistants to them to try to get ahead of the curve, and that, rather than asking what an AI can do, people have now shifted to wondering what AI can’t be used for. It has been so grossly overused at this point, and the advancements are so quick, that I am just pulled into watching the AI craze that has gripped every company and consumer in such a short amount of time.

The Future of the Music Industry

The Music Industry - The Future of Listening I truly believe that the entirety of music will be switching to streaming. With how quickly streaming has advanced, and how much music is now streamed compared to other sources, I believe that eventually everyone will be transferring to streaming for its ease of access and its improving audio quality. Even now, according to the IFPI Global Music Report, 69 percent of music listeners are using streaming services, which I think will only grow with time. Additionally, I believe that it is possible that at some point in the somewhat near future, cars will remove both AM and FM radio, and will adopt an Apple play style smart screen for all streaming. P.I.N. Point - Sprint 4

P.I.N. Point - Sprint 4 My name is Kyle Ramser, and I am currently working as a 3D Artist on the game P.I.N. Point. P.I.N. Point is a fast-paced assassin shooter game where you are tasked with taking out a target using your sniper and gadgets, and the faster you take him out, the higher the profit. We just finished up our fourth sprint, which went a lot better than the first three. We were much better prepared and knew exactly what needed to be put in the game, as well as the priorities for each card. One example of the 15 NPC textures Hat texture There were some small hiccups during this process, but far fewer than the previous sprints for this project. One of the major ones was that our team was not sure how to go about texturing the NPC characters. We needed to have between 12 and 24 different variations on the NPC textures, but adding this many texture maps for color, normals, and metal/roughness would very quickly bloat the size of the game, which our group is trying to avoid.
